Goals

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (Proverbs 29:18)

God had a very special relationship with Israel (Exodus 19). They were His witnesses and glory commissioned to show forth his praises (Isaiah 43:10, 21) to a lost world. They were to shine and sound forth the character of God by their conduct and conversations. But because of unbelief (Romans 11:20, 32), Israel was temporarily put on the shelf and we (the church) stepped into the picture. We are now His witnesses (Acts 1:8) and belong to God. We have a special relationship with Him (John 17:22). We must learn from the mistakes of the past (Romans 15:4). God said, “This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me” (Mark 7:6). I Peter 2:9 says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

The problem with so many churches and Christian organizations today is they have no spiritual compass. They have no idea where they are going or even where they have come from. There are no clear-cut goals, purposes and objectives for the ministry. The work is simply in motion but without meaning. New Life Bible Church has a Christ-centered vision for the present and future. It is our desire to build spiritual lives that reproduce their own kind and bring glory to God. The mandate for the church from Christ Himself is to “make disciples” (Matt. 28:19, 20). That commission, given to us individually and corporately, envisions the whole process of spiritual birth and growth to maturity. Our main objective at NLBC is to accomplish this goal. The church location, our activities, our fellowship and outreach opportunities are simply vehicles that God will use to reach these goals. May we work together as a team to carry out Christ’s biblical mandate for the church!

The goals of New Life Bible Church are:

  1. Exalt Christ. (Colossians 1:17-18; I Corinthians 10:13; I Peter 3:22)
  2. Evangelize non-believers. (Mark 16:15; Acts 2:47; Matthew 28:19-20)
  3. Edify believers. (Ephesians 4:11-16; Galatians 4:19; Acts 20:32)
  4. Encourage Christians to serve. (Ephesians 4:12; Romans 12:11; I Cor. 12:1, 7)
  5. Earnestly contend for the faith. (Jude 3; Philippians 1:17; Galatians 1:8)

Our Theme Verse: John 10:10- “…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Our Church Slogan- “Finding New Life in Christ”
